The Eat Cambridge Main Event is a huge food and drink fair celebrating the best local food and drink on offer in our county. This year you can find us at the Corn Exchange on Saturday 17 May from 10.30am to 4pm.
We hope you’ll join us and our amazing line-up of food and drink stalls. Doors open at 10.30am and inside you’ll find the best local independent food and drink producers and suppliers, all amazingly passionate about helping you explore, taste, and discover the fantastic array of delicious food and drink that’s right on your doorstep. Bring your shopping bags and a big appetite!
We’ve also got a packed schedule of talks going on from 11am in the King’s Room at the Corn Exchange. Find a full list in the foyer on the day and make sure you arrive early to bag a seat. Make sure you save some time to hear Tim Hayward introducing our speakers and sharing his thoughts and predictions on the latest food trends, at 11am and 1pm in the King’s Room (FREE).
You can also book onto a walking tour with a difference, at 11am or 2pm, with See Cambridge Differently and taste your way around the historic city centre whilst learning about its culinary history. There will be a few final spaces available on the day, but we recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment (£7.50, BOOK HERE).
When your belly’s full, we urge you to feed your brain instead. Gather a wealth of local foodie knowledge at our information stands in the foyer, from Cambridge Sustainable Food City and Transition Cambridge, and find out more about our fantastic festival sponsors at the Bidwells, NFU Mutual, and Gog Magog Hills Farm Shop stands.
And, finally, we’ve been keeping the most exciting news ’til last. It’s been very hard, believe us, but we can now reveal two very special surprises to seek out at the Main Event…
Jack’s Gelato will be scooping his beautiful handmade gelato upstairs at our “Mezzanine Cafe” from 10.30 onwards. Look out for the list of flavours on display in the foyer. Yippee for fabulous fresh local ingredients!
And we’ll be proudly displaying our first ever official festival cake! Find the bespoke creation by Two Little Cats Bakery at the Eat Cambridge stand in the foyer but, be quick, the first 100 people will be treated to a slice on us. You’ll also be able to track down more of Two Little Cats’ creations in the main hall (and HERE). Yippee for cake!
Look out for more secrets and surprising antics on the day…
We look forward to seeing you there!
